Assignment #10

What I think about this blog is...

I really liked this blog thing because we get to use the computer more often and because I learned more about the book Sold. I knew there was prostitution but I didnt know it was that bad. Some of the assignments were hard but it made me think about lots of things that are going around the world.

Assignment #8

(Lakshmi)
Wings of Air

My heart longs to be dissolved
In wings of air
And fly in the unhorizoned sky.
I long to open up
All my heart doors
In the delight of my liberation - life.
May my life begin
With the breath of a new hope

This poem remainds me of Lakshmi because she never looses her hope. When the American visits her she has more hope of been rescute from the brothel.

Assignment #7

  • These pictures are so sad; such as the one that the man is on top of the girl. That remainds me of Lakshmi and the first sex experience and when she talks about the man telling and making her to do things she doesn't want to do. I got so upset when I saw the picture of the men in line waiting for their turn to have sex with girls. Thats so discusting, how can emn be so mean.

Assingment 3 Man vs society

There are a lot of problems in the story, but I think the main one is the money. Lakshmi's family is poor as many families in India thats why Lakshmi has to go work on the city. Thats when she gets involve in prostitution. I also think the stepfather is another problem in the story, because without him Lakshmi's family would have more food and Lakshmi wouldn't have to face prostitution.
